In my first year of studying, I completed a design for a penthouse apartment. I started off creating a persona board which was inspiration for the type of client I was designing for. I designed the apartment for a young couple with a baby. With a keen interest in Biophilic Design, I wanted to apply a natural concept to this space. I kept the design quite minimal as including natural elements like plants isn't overly ideal with young children around. I implemented the natural style through colour, texture and materials. I really enjoyed creating this design because I feel that the familiarity of kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms etc. from the house I live in and the houses I've visited helped me understand the important elements that I needed to include as well as the different things to consider too.
